Training Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

All our training level physiotherapists are fully qualified with degree level qualification but with limited pelvic health clinical experience. We offer training opportunities for physiotherapists that are new to pelvic health but have a desire to break into this specialist area of physiotherapy.

The majority of appointments booked with a training pelvic health physiotherapist will involve the presence of a Clinical Specialist or Highly Specialised Pelvic Health Physiotherapist (either in the treatment room or available in a room nearby). Each appointment includes time for the therapist to discuss their clinical reasoning and treatment planning with their mentor.

LEVEL 2

Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Our specialist pelvic health physiotherapists are fully qualified physiotherapists with degree level qualification. They also have over a year of clinical experience in pelvic health physiotherapy. They have attended various courses and have completed the necessary training and observation with Gillian McCabe Physiotherapy Ltd (via Pelvicademy).

Our Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapists can provide assessment and treatment of the following pelvic health conditions:

• Stress Urinary Incontinence
• Bladder Urgency & Urge Incontinence
• Antenatal Pelvic Health 
•  Post Natal Pelvic Health
• Musculoskeletal Lower Back & Pelvic Pain
• Mild Prolapse Symptoms

Our Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapists may sometimes request the presence of a Clinical Specialist or Highly Specialised  Physiotherapist in order to progress their skill development. This will be discussed with you prior to the request being made.

LEVEL 3

Clinical Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Our clinical specialist pelvic health physiotherapists are all fully qualified with degree level qualification. They also have over 2 years clinical experience in managing pelvic health conditions. They have attended multiple post graduate training courses helping them to excel in evidence based treatments for a wide range of pelvic health conditions such as:

• Urinary Incontinence
• Overactive Bladder Syndrome
• Bladder Pain Syndrome
• Chronic Pelvic Pain
• Painful Intercourse
• Constipation
• Pelvic Organ Prolapse
• Bowel Urgency
• Bowel Incontinence
• Antenatal & Post Natal 
• Active Mums
• Women's Wellbeing Screening

They are also trained and experienced in providing treatments with the Novuqare MAPLe device which uses electrical stimulation and biofeedback training for a more bespoke approach to pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation.

Highly Specialised Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Our highly specialised pelvic health physiotherapists are fully qualified with degree level qualification and have also completed a masters level qualification (or equivalent) successfully. They have over 5 years experience in pelvic health and are able to provide high quality, evidence-based physiotherapy treatments for a wide range of pelvic health conditions including:

• Bladder Incontinence
• Overactive Bladder Syndrome
• Bladder Pain Syndrome
• Chronic Pelvic Pain
• Painful Intercourse
• Endometriosis
• Vulvodynia & Vestibulodynia
• Constipation
• Bowel Urgency
• Bowel Incontinence
• Pelvic Dyssynergia
• Pelvic Organ Prolapse
• Pessary Fitting coming soon in 2025)
• Antenatal & Postnatal Rehabilitation
• Active Mums
• Women's Wellbeing Screening

Each Highly specialist physiotherapist is also qualified and experienced in the use of the Novuqare MAPLe device for bespoke pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation & Low Level Laser Therapy for the management of pain and healing.
