DIRECTIONS BY CAR FROM M4

• Exit the M4 at junction 33 and take the A4232 in the direction of Cardiff City Centre (this is a concrete road).

• There is an exit for the Museum of Welsh Life, but this is not always open to access the village, so we suggest the following:

• Exit at Culverhouse Cross (A48, Cardiff W)
• Keep to the left lane on the slip road.

• Take the 1st exit off the roundabout (Ely, Trelai, Caerau)

• Then take the very 1st exit from this road (St Fagans, Museum of Welsh Life) Michaelston Road

• Take the 1st exit, straight ahead on this roundabout, past St Fagans Garage on your left.

• At the traffic lights, head straight on, the road narrows a little.

• Drive past St Fagans Cattery & Great House Farm on your left.

• Keep driving straight down the lane.

• As you approach the railway crossing, there is a turning to your right.

• Take this turning to drive towards the gate of Llanmaes House | Private Property. 

DIRECTIONS FROM WESTERN AVENUE & FAIRWATER

• From the Western Avenue / Waungron Park Junction, drive down Waungron road towards Fairwater and drive under the railway bridge.

• The road now turns into St Fagans Road with bay fronted houses either side.

• At the traffic lights and cross roads, please continue straight ahead, past the shops (stay in left lane at the lights).

• Keep driving straight, you will drive over a number of zebra crossings.

• As the houses disappear and the road becomes a little narrower, it becomes Cardiff Road, keep driving straight on.

• You will then enter the village of St Fagans.

• Keep driving straight on and don't turn right down the Croft-y-Genau road.

• The road descends downhill (Castle Road) towards the railway crossing.

• Drive past the turning for the Museum of Welsh Life and cross over the railway tracks (please note that this can sometimes get busy).

• Immediately after the railway crossing, take the first left and drive towards the gate of Llanmaes House | Private Property.
